Times for a Change
Today the NYtimes has endorsed Hillary for the democratic nomination. I'm going to put some quotes on here just in case you guys are too lazy to read the actual article.
-"By choosing Mrs. Clinton, we are not denying Mr. Obama’s appeal or his gifts. The idea of the first African-American nominee of a major party also is exhilarating, and so is the prospect of the first woman nominee. “Firstness” is not a reason to choose. The times that false choice has been raised, more often by Mrs. Clinton, have tarnished the campaign."
-"Mr. Obama has built an exciting campaign around the notion of change, but holds no monopoly on ideas that would repair the governing of America."
-"Mr. Obama may also be capable of tackling such issues, but we have not yet seen it. Voters have to judge candidates not just on the promise they hold, but also on the here and now...He shows voters that he understands how much they hunger for a break with the Bush years, for leadership and vision and true bipartisanship. We hunger for that, too. But we need more specifics to go with his amorphous promise of a new governing majority, a clearer sense of how he would govern."
-"We know that she is capable of both uniting and leading. We saw her going town by town through New York in 2000, including places where Clinton-bashing was a popular sport. She won over skeptical voters and then delivered on her promises and handily won re-election in 2006.
Mrs. Clinton must now do the same job with a broad range of America’s voters. She will have to let Americans see her power to listen and lead, but she won’t be able to do it town by town."

Oprah Yesterday

OMG Yesterday Oprah was one of the best I have seen in awhile about polygamy. I loved ever minute of it. Lisa Ling's investigation into both polygamous communities was eye opening. That woman has some cojones. Its so true that there is no place on earth will she will not go from the Congo to confronting a polygamous husband about how he decides who to spend the night with. Oprah was good at grilling the husband and wives as well. She always asks the questions that I would ask if I were interviewing these people. I loved it when she said that most people cant stand to have more than one wife in the kitchen and most people tolerate it only for Thanksgiving.

New Haircut.

I needed a haircut so bad! It was hot and humid and i was putting way to much cream in my hair in order to control it. Coco as always really hooked me up. If you have curly hair and you are in new york city give her a call at the salon. (212) 587-5599
Im posting the before and after pics so you guys can see what an excellent job she does.

New Leather Jacket

I bought a new pleather jacket from H&M today. I tried it on a week ago and really liked it. I always wanted a black leather jacket that I didn't have to worry about getting wet in the rain. I already have a real leather one from Barneys Co-op from 4 years ago. Still debating whether I should return it or not. I'll take a picture modeling it later and post it.

Ground Zero

I went down to ground zero last week on 09/11. Im working on a 09/11 feature story for my journalism class. I havent been there in awhile and it was moving to go there at night with the sky lit up by the beams of light. The silence of the people and the makeshift shrines there reminded me of a cemetary and also brought me back to the weeks following the attack where there were pictures of victims plastered all over manhattan. It's been hard when interviewing people about the attacks to get any unique responses that are different from what has been said already in the media. This has been the gardest part of the assignment.

Star Jones
I saw this picture on Style.com from Michael Kors Spring 2008 fashion show and I didn't recognise her at first. I think shes had way too much plastic surgery. I saw Star last year when she was still on The View and I thought she looked great, but now her face is unrecognizable. I saw some nice men's' suits from the Kors show and a nice blue shirt that I would buy If I had 800 dollars available to me even though I'm still holding a grudge against him from an incident that happened between me and him when I was working at a bakery on Madison.

Crack is Whack
It's official. Lauryn Hill is officially gone and really messed up. Got back from her free concert tonight in Wingate Park, Brooklyn. One of the worst performances I've seen of hers. Her speech was slurred and she was twitching through the whole set. We knew something was wrong when she came out wearing a leather fringe vest and long sleeve tee layered underneath. Who wears that in the middle of August. She played some of her hits from The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, but it was like Lauryn Hill meets Jimmy Hendrix. Lauryn baby use your head! She really needs help. People were leaving the concert like three songs into her set. I miss the old Lauryn Hill.

Losing weight and other observations
Today I weighed myself in the morning and I've lost 10 pounds, which is so good. I just need to lose another ten to be at my optimum weight and fit into the size 32 jeans. Also Ive been noticing alot of guys wearing v-neck t shirts and a gold chain. Not sure if I like the look or not. Wondering if it could work to me without looking to Russian guido.
